Dear MY SWEET DAUGHTER! We have seen you grow up as you become a beautiful young woman. You are a very sensitive and caring individual, which is one of the many strengths you have. You have come a long way as your hard work to be a Bat Mitzvah ends this part of your journey, and we are so proud of you.
To us, your becoming a bat mitzvah is a rite of passage between you and Hashem. Your bat Mitzvah is what Hashem is written in the scriptures to bring you closer to him and will always go with you. Hashem saw you in the beginning, before you were born, and throughout this blessing of becoming a bat mitzvah. He is always with you.
In some ways, he shows himself though your eyes. This can be interpreted as divinity. We are so proud of you! As well as praising the grace of G-D for giving you to us. You have been a gift to me and Mom, and everyone’s life you touch. This is an appreciation of you (and mom) because it shows us that you are ready to choose your place in this world. And we are witness. And though there are not any do overs in life, we’re here to catch you if you fall and stand by you if you fall behind. Do I have your attention?
You are curious about life, confident and free thinking, that school and no school has taught you. You have so much to share. You are practically inseparable from Dory, who loves you more when you give her a power hug, or kiss her on the nose. I love watching every bit of it.
The Mitzvah project you chose is SOOOOO you, as you help around the yeshiva.
We love you so much now and as you become an adult (both ceremoniously and literally), our pride and love grows too. And now that you’ve done the hard part of studying for this special day, and I might add, fighting with so much passion about not wanting this – I only wish this passion was directed in a positive way. I hope you carry this passion in your heart that you see how much you can accomplish when you don’t give up. My advice is to start by listening to your heart and never give up until you finish what you set out to do. We love you!
